Vietnam Air offers promotions for travellers to Myanmar
Vietnam Airlines has announced a special price of US$100 for travelers boarding its flight linking HCMC and Myanmar’s Yangon starting from November 15 when the national flag carrier opens this new air route.
Passengers who buy tickets from October 15 to December 25 for the departure time between travellers to MyanmarNovember 11 and December 25 this year will get the incentive. This return ticket fare is exclusive of taxes.
The airline will operate flights between HCMC and Yangon every Monday, Friday and Sunday using Airbus 320.

Eight North-western provinces work together to build tourism trade names
A conference to review a cooperative programme to develop tourism in 2010 was held in Sapa district, Lao Cai province on November 1. This was the second time the eight northwestern provinces agreed to unite to establish tourism trade names in the region.
At the event, delegates drew experience from projects over the two years of the programme. They focused on implementing the Northwestern Path in coordination with the Netherlands Development Organisation in Vietnam (SNV), assessing cooperation with the business sector in developing tourism in the region, and preparing to connection Luang Prabang (Laos) with the four provinces of Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Lao Cai.
Mrs. Bui Thi Kim Dung, Vice Chairwoman of Lao Cai provincial People’s Committee, suggested two, three or four provinces should coordinate to design common tourism products, and all eight northwestern provinces should create a regional framework to propose to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism so they can develop policies suitable for the tourism in the region.
Delegates also agreed to organise the National Tourism Year in 2013 and put the northwestern tourism development cooperation programme into the national tourism promotion programme for the 2011-2015 period.
In the future, the VNAT will assist in raising the quality of human resources, to facilitate the promotion of tourism trade names in the wide-open northwestern region.
Disabled children put lacquer art on show
An exhibition of lacquer paintings done by children suffering mental disorders has opened in Hue City.
The Tri Tuong Tuong Tren Son Mai (Showing Imagination through Lacquer Paintings) exhibition displays 51 paintings featuring traditional and iconic Vietnamese images like the Muc Dong (Buffalo Boy), Trau va Ruong (Buffalo and Paddy Field) and Me Que (Mother in the Countryside).
The children from Hue’s Trinh Truc Gia Centre for Disabled People have surprised viewers with their creativity and use of joyful colours.
The exhibition will remain open at 1 Le Hong Phong Street until November 25. Proceeds from the sale of the paintings will be donated to the Trinh Tuc Gia Centre.
