On Thursday, after months of nail-biting anticipation, Prince Harry finally revealed who will be his best man at his wedding to Meghan Markle. And that person, of course, is his brother, Prince William.

In a series of tweets, Kensington Palace shared that Harry asked his big brother William to take the supporting role in his wedding on May 19 at St George’s Chapel.

“Prince Harry has asked his brother The Duke of Cambridge to be his Best Man at his wedding to Ms. Meghan Markle,” the initial tweet read. It added in a second tweet that Harry had done the same for William at his 2011 wedding to Kate Middleton.

“The Duke of Cambridge is honoured to have been asked, and is very much looking forward to supporting his brother at St George's Chapel, Windsor on May 19th,” another tweet read, alongside an adorable photo of the princes as children.

While this is all adorable, it really should come as no surprise that Harry asked his older brother to take part in his wedding day. The two have always been open about their incredibly close relationship, which they often attribute to the loss of their mother at such young ages.

“Our relationship is closer than it’s been because of the situation we’ve been through,” William has said, according to InStyle. “Losing our mother at a young age, it’s helped us travel through that difficult patch together. You’re like-minded. You go through similar things — it’s a bond, and it’s something you know you’ve tackled together and come out better for it.”

What does remain somewhat of a mystery, however, is who exactly will stand with Meghan as her maid of honor, if she chooses to have one at all.
